Dinah Winnick is a communications manager in UMBC’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
The entire UMBC community is invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of our new Performing Arts & Humanities Building (PAHB) today at 2:00 p.m.
This building represents the tireless collective efforts of so many people and offers tremendous new opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. It will also help UMBC develop new relationships with community partners for the benefit of both our students and our region.
All are welcome to join in the ribbon cutting ceremony with President Hrabowski and Governor O’Malley (2:00 p.m.) and the Arts and Humanities Festival featuring food trucks and musical guests (3:00–6:30 p.m.). A limited number of tickets are available for “New Space,” a discussion presented by UMBC and the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance in the Proscenium Theatre (3:30-5:00), and the lecture “The Humanities, Without Apology,” featuring Pauline Yu, President of the American Council of Learned Societies (7:00-8:30 p.m.). Visit the PAHB website for details.
